Regulation and institutional reform are increasingly being used around the world to enhance ambition, implement the Paris Agreement and NDC targets, and stimulate cooperation. The law can require climate mitigation, adaptation and finance outcomes, send signals to markets, and incentivise transition. This panel at the UK Pavilion at COP25 provided a briefing on recent climate law innovations from different countries including the UK, surveys progress and lessons learned, and discusses their impact, showcasing the UK’s global leadership in enhancing climate ambition.
